Lelia, Merrissa, Burke and Maddie hike up the path towards Reaper's March, and can see two large towers looming in the distance. They continue their way up the path, the cold morning gusts biting at their faces. As they get closer to the towers, they go through a mountain pass, "This is what they call Reaper's Pass.." Burke says quietly. The pass is littered with bones and overgrown with weeds, except for the path carved into the earth. She steps on a skull, and it cracks underneath her weight. The two towers known as the Reaper Towers sit at the end of the pass, on either side of the gap, between them a huge wall, with a portcullis carved into the stone. A horn blows as they near the gate. They wait before the large gate for what seems like an hour. "Shhh..." Merrissa whispers. Lelia looks around the pass, above them archers sit, with arrows nocked, ready to loose and cut their journey short. The portcullis slowly creaks open and a single rider bearing the standard of House Egan, three birds in flight, rides out to meet them. "Easy there travelers." the man says, his blonde hair is combed to the side and he sports a tightly cropped beard. "I am Ser Elrin Celtigar. What business do you have in Reaper's March?" he says looking over the group, "We've fled Holden, bandits attacked and now it's theirs." Merrissa says, "We've come looking for refuge." Burke adds. Ser Celtigar looks over the tired group, "Reaper's March is not the place for refugees." he says, "I am truly sorry, but I must turn you away." He begins to ride away, "WAIT! WE HAVE A CHILD!" Merrissa shouts at him, he turns back around, "And I wish her good luck and safe travels." Burke begins to walk towards him and the archers tighten their grip on their bowstrings, he stops and exhales loudly. Merrissa looks to Lelia.

I'm not normally one to flash my name around but, I'm Lelia Lancaster. Daughter to Lord and Lady Lancaster. Both my brothers didn't make it, and I'm not even sure that either of my parents are alive. Does that mean anything?"

Are we clear on that?" Burke grunts and nods and Merrissa nods, "Lady Lancaster?"

Merrissa and Lelia each get their own horse, and Burke shares one with Maddie. They ride further up the path towards Reaper's March. As they get further up the mountain, the weather gets colder, and the landscape gets icier. Ser Celtigar clears his throat "Be wary at Reaper's March, it may seem peaceful, but there is conspiracy. Since Lord Egan died, lesser lords have been vying for the Lady's hand in marriage. Yet she refuses every single one, there has been one attempt on her life so far." he looks at his traveling companions, "Perhaps I am telling too much. Just... be careful who you trust." he looks at Lelia, "Especially you, my lady."

"Yes..." he says quietly. They continue the journey without much small talk. They finally arrive in Reaper's March a few hours later. They enter a small village, seemingly very poor, constructed of small huts and wooden shacks. At the very top of the mountain is a huge castle with tall pointed towers. Celtigar escorts them through the village, where Lelia sees someone cooking a rabbit on a stick over a small fire. "These people are living in poverty..." Burke says angrily. "Aye, they are, we all are. Since Lord Egan died, trade has been scarce, Lady Egan doesn't even leave the castle any longer. They live off what they can hunt and find. But don't be confused, these people aren't dying, quite the opposite really, when we get over this bump in the path, we will be a stronger people for it." he says with pride. They dismount their horses at the steps of the castle and begin marching up. When they finally get to the top, Celtigar pushes open to heavy doors, revealing a large circular room, with winding stairs wrapping around both sides, extending to a platform that looks over the hall. "Wait here." he says and rushes upstairs and into a back room. Burke clenches his fist, "I don't feel good about this." he mutters, Merrissa shakes her head, "She's grief stricken, I understand. I think this will be good, we can help the people." Maddie stays silent, holding Burke's hand. Merrissa looks at Lelia, "What do you think?"

If you'd follow me... as for you three, I will escort you to the inn, where you can stay until you plan out your next move. You are welcome to stay here, just know you must pull your weight." he gestures Lelia over, "This way my lady."

He leads her up the rounding steps and through a long hall. At the end of the hall is a set of double doors. He knocks on them and then after a moment opens them up. Inside the room is a large bed with various tables and dressers. Sitting on the foot of the bed is a woman with black hair, tied back behind her head. She wears a sky blue dress, the color of the Egans. She turns to the sound of the doors opening, and Lelia can see she is young, but stress has made her age considerably. Celtigar nods and exits the room, shutting the doors behind him. "My lady.." she says softly with a slight nod of the head, "My condolences, I knew your mother and father... considerably well, it pains me deeply to hear of your losses."

It was a lesser lord, Lord Harrington, he thought he could kill me and then take control of Reaper's March because I'm a woman. Needless to say, he won't be a problem anymore, I had Ser Celtigar push him off of the highest mountain."
