Argon sits atop his destrier, he decided to take a job protecting a carriage of nobles from Holden to Tarfield. It payed well and perhaps he could gather a story from an adventure of fighting forest bandits. He leads his horse to follow just behind the noble's carriage. There were 4 other guards in addition to him. He could hear a conversation between two of them, "I say Lord Tymber takes his army and shows the rebels what for." a guard says, "Nah mate, I've 'eard good things about this Sunderly king, maybe he'll do better than old Redfort ever did. What do you think big man." he asks looking back at Argon.

He simply shrugs with a clank of his armor "I don't much care for polotics" "Many'd see that as treason they would." the second soldier says. "If it comes to it, you oughta side with the Sunderlies, Redfort is dying, and I ain't heard good things about his son Mathias." The first soldier shakes his head, "No, you have it wrong, I've fought with Mathias Redfort, he's a skilled warrior, maybe a bit bloodthirsty, but who isn't in the heat o' battle. You ever been in a battle Tuldon?"

"The Stonelands still remains neutral in the ordeal, so I choose the same" he laughs a little "Also saying I'm committing treason is a little ironic I'd say, seeing as you're working with someone that supports Redfort" He gestures to the other guard. "No offense."

And not that I'd call it treason, but failure to answer the call, well that's as bad as working with the enemy as far as Redfort is concerned." the window of the carriage slides open and Lord Lancaster barks out, "Keep it down out here, with your talk of treason and what not." he shuts the carriage window. "I wonder what's wrong with him?" one guard says.

The landscape becomes darker and more overgrown with trees and plants, and the path is barely discernible from the dirt. Argon hears an owl hoot. A few seconds later he hears another hoot in response. "Must b' matin' season. Bloody owl's gettin' more than I am." the guard snorts. Another guard says, "I thought owls were night creatures, no?" the fourth guard says, "No you loon, you're thinkin' of a night and gale." They hear the owl hoot again, then a few seconds later another responds.

A guard looks at him, "Bandit signals... don't be stupid bandits wouldn't hoot like ow-" an arrow rips through his throat and he falls off his horse. It whinnies as an arrow hits it in the hind leg, and two more pierce the carriage. "YAHHHHHHHHH" bandits scream battlecries as they emerge from the trees. Argon counts 9, 4 of them archers. The other three guards pull their swords from their belts, and one shouts, "Defend the carriage!" One guard rides out to meet a bandit with an axe, and he cuts him down then turns his horse back to the carriage.

He turns around with a strong swing of his maul while matching with a louder battlecry. As he turns, he feels the impact of his hammer and the crack of the bandit's skull. The force of the swing throws the corpse a few feet to Argon's side. Argon hears someone yell his name, and he turns to see one of the guards pointing behind Argon. Suddenly the guard's horse takes an arrow between the eyes and he is thrown to the ground as the horse falls over.

Suddenly the guard's horse takes an arrow between the eyes and he is thrown to the ground as the horse falls over. He turns around ready to swing, looking for the next bandit to smash. As he turns, his eyes meet with a bandit wearing fur armor and a rusty nasal helm. He swings sideways at the bandit, but he ducks underneath the swing. The bandit tackles Argon to the ground, grabbing under his arms. The two topple to the ground, and Argon drops his maul, and the bandit pulls a curved dagger from his side. He grabs underneath Argon's helm and pulls it up just enough to reveal his neck, with his free hand he attempts to stick the dagger underneath his chin, into his throat.
