"I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to need your men to stay here. I can have some men escort you directly to Lord Tymber... but only you." "I'm afraid I must insist on an entourage, sir." Edwyn explains, "It hardly makes for a mutually comfortable diplomatic environment if both parties aren't assured of our own safety." He looks at him sternly for a moment, "Very well.." he looks at two soldiers, "LET THEM THROUGH!" he shouts and they scurry to move the barricades blocking the road to clear the way. They ride up the road and make it to Tarfield. The city is large, with a wooden pallisade wall and a huge keep. A guard opens the gate for them, and the ride straight to the keep. A stable boy helps him to dismount, and Jon, Edric and Edwyn all enter the keep. At the end of the longhall, Lord Tymber sits at the end of a table, his balding gray hair pushed behind his head, and he sports a handlebar mustache. Seated beside him is another lord that Edwyn hasn't met before. "Ser Edwyn Ryswell." a steward announces. Lord Tymber looks up from his food and stares gravely, not saying a word.

He stares a few seconds more, "Yes?" he asks gruffly. Edwyn gestures to a seat at the table, asking "May I?" The old man snorts, "Very well." he motions for a servant to bring more bread and ale. "I know why you're here... And I'll tell the same thing I told the bloody king. I can't fight a war and defend my own people. I called my banners and was prepared to fight, but bandits made a quick end to that."

He looks around for a bit before continuing "However, I'd like to remind you of the oath that you took to King Redfort, and of the fact that recent battles against these so-called rebels have ended in the crown's favor. As a result of the false king Sunderly's insubordination, the bandits will prey on people, and they can be dealt with easily enough... However, a war without support is not so easily won - And the sooner the war is won, the sooner we can turn our attention back to problems at home."

"True, I did swear an oath, but I'll not stand idly while bandits slaughter and pillage on my lands." he rubs his hands, "Perhaps you can help me with that. I had planned to send a force of a hundered men to retake Holden, under the command of Lord Perk." he gesturee to the timid man across from Edwyn, "But he is not fit to command... he left his city without a garrison and payed dearly... you however..." Lord Perk looks at Edwyn and Lord Tymber speaks up,"I will offer my army to do as the crown sees fit, under the condition that you command the force to retake Holden."

You are a guest here, be mindful, but otherwise make yourself at home." he drinks some mead, "Is there anything else you came here for, ser?"

I only came here to ensure that the Westwoods and the Crown are in agreement about the circumstances that have befallen the kingdom, as of late. As far as this force of men I'm to take to Holden, how many men can I expect?"

Under a commander such as you, you should have no problem clearing out the rabble."

I'll take my own men as well, and we should have the criminals cleared out in no time at all." Edwyn replies.

If you need anything else, be sure to ask the servants." he turns to Lord Perk, "Go assemble Lord Ryswell's force." Lord Perk quickly stands up without a word and begins walking out the door, "YOU'RE A DISGRACE JARDEN!" Lord Tymber shouts at him as he leaves.
