[Edwyn I] The Battle for Three Streams

With Edwyn's kick, the man is knocked onto the ground. Edwyn turns around quickly and sees a Caswell soldier with a longsword and wooden round shield about to side swing on him.

He blocks the blow with a loud clang, and then buries the edge of the knife in the man's neck. He coughs blood out into Edwyn's face, and then slumps to his knees, taking the knife with him. Suddenly Edwyn drops to his knees and a sharp pain shoots up his back. He yells in pain as he drops to his stomach and rolls around to see the knight with a sword sticking out of his gut, his tabard stained with dark blood. He drops his warhammer and then drops into a kneel in front of Edwyn. His large mailed hands wrap around his throat, and Edwyn can feel the life being choked out of him. He is still in a sort of shock from the crushing blow of the warhammer on his armored back.

He wraps his hand around the handle and the man yells out in pain. He can hear the man cough behind his helmet, and can see blood drip out of the breathing holes, however the man's grip only weakens slightly, enough for Edwyn to get a raspy breath in. Edwyn tries to get loose when he sees a spear erupt through the man's neck, underneath his helmet. The knight's limp body falls to the side and Edwyn pushes him off. "My lord!" Edric yells and holds out a hand to help him up.

He pulls the sword from the man's belly tugging some entrails with it, a wonder he didn't die sooner. Edwyn takes a survey of the field. About 20 yards away a Caswell soldier drives his blade through the heart of a Ryswell soldier before getting an axe in his back and falling to the dirt. About 40 yards the other way, he sees his uncle battling with the Caswell general. His uncle parries the general's swing with his greatsword and grabs the man by his armor. He pulls him off of his horse and throws him to the ground. This causes the horse to freak out and charge into a group of soldiers fighting. 5 yards in front of him he sees a caswell soldier, pulling the blade out of the back of a kneeling Ryswell, he grabs the man under the chin and slits his throat, before turning his attention onto Edwyn. Edrick looks to the left and sees another soldier making his way towards him. He drops his spear and picks a bloody arming sword of the ground and runs to meet him, he crosses swords with him, just as the first soldier reaches Edwyn. The man takes an aggresive step and tries for an overhead swing with his longsword.

The strength of the man's swing surprises Edwyn but he is still able to block the blow. He drives his sword forward, only for it to be swept aside by the enemy warrior. He takes a step back and then swings at Edwyn's legs.

The blade barely misses Edwyn's knee, and he lunges forward with a swing of his own. His sword rips through the soldier's chest piece and torso, and the force of the swing spins the man around and he falls over onto his stomach. Edwyn looks over at his uncle and the general. His uncle has is sword raised and thrusts down on the general, but he rolls away from it and pulls a dagger from his back. He hamstrings his uncle with it and forces him to his knees, dropping his greatsword. The commander begins to pull himself up off of the ground. To his left, Edwyn sees Edric fighting the Caswell soldier, he is checking most of the man's blows and dodging some others, but Edwyn can see he is getting tired and if he doesn't get on the offensive soon, he'll lose the fight.
