The soldier pulls his axe out, taking the corpse with him and freeing Edwyn's sword.

Edwyn steps towards the man and attempt to quickly plunge his sword into the man'said chest. He sticks the man with his sword, and watches the life leave him as blood bubbles on his lips. A few feet ahead he sees one of his men cut the arm off of an enemy soldier with a savage swing of an axe. After a few more minutes of fighting the inn falls silent, Jon approaches, "They were all drunk it seems... why would they not properly guard such a strategic location?"

"Likely weren't expecting us to follow them after Three Streams." Edwyn says, wiping off his sword. "Or they were, this was just a trap, and there's an army of southern men ready to spring out and attack us. Either way, best we be on our way quickly. Rally the men, saddle up, and let's ride for Tarfield." He concludes, exiting the tavern to climb on his horse.

He climbs aboard his horse and Edric and Jon ride up beside him, "We lost one man in the inn." Jon says, "We'll come back to bury him later, we still don't know if it's a trap or not." After about a days ride, they make it to the Western Watchtower outside Tarfield. The commander in charge there stops them on their way, "I see the banner of Falkirk...." he says, "I take it you are Ser Edwyn?"

"Yes sir." Edwyn calls, "I'm here to speak with Lord Tymber." "I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to need your men to stay here. I can have some men escort you directly to Lord Tymber... but only you." "I'm afraid I must insist on an entourage, sir." Edwyn explains, "It hardly makes for a mutually comfortable diplomatic environment if both parties aren't assured of our own safety."
